Introduction

The 7th Saudi Scientific Pediatric Surgery Association Conference provides a platform for pediatric surgeons and healthcare professionals to update their knowledge and skills in pediatric surgery. The program covers recent advances in minimally invasive techniques, management of neonatal surgical emergencies, complex congenital anomalies, and pediatric trauma. It also addresses ethical considerations and promotes multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance perioperative care and patient outcomes.

  • Goals & Objectives:-
  • Apply at least two updated minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as thoracoscopic repair of congenital diaphragmatic hernia and laparoscopic procedures for GERD, in their clinical practice within one month post-conference.
  • Demonstrate improved decision-making in managing neonatal surgical emergencies, including necrotizing enterocolitis and inguinal hernia in premature infants, through case-based discussions during the sessions.
  • Explain at least three evidence-based protocols for pediatric trauma management and integrate one protocol into their clinical practice within four weeks after the conference.
  • Recognize early clinical indicators of child abuse and outline appropriate intervention steps based on local and international guidelines immediately after the related session.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams during perioperative care by applying structured communication strategies discussed in the sessions, as evaluated through interactive panels and feedback.

  • Learning outcomes:-
  • By the end of the conference, participants will be able to apply updated surgical techniques to improve patient safety and outcomes, identify and manage common neonatal surgical emergencies, and describe recent advances in minimally invasive pediatric surgery. They will demonstrate improved decision-making in managing congenital anomalies and pediatric trauma through case-based scenarios, recognize early signs of child abuse and implement appropriate clinical and ethical interventions, integrate new evidence-based protocols into their clinical practice, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to optimize perioperative care and enhance surgical outcomes.
