  • Goals & Objectives:-
  •      Recognize and describe common hidden and routine-based challenges within Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) workflows that may compromise sterilization quality and patient safety.
  •      Apply system-based safety concepts, including the Swiss Cheese Model, to identify risk points and prevent errors across the sterile processing cycle.
  •       Analyze communication gaps between CSSD and Operating Room teams and propose structured strategies to improve interdepartmental coordination and information flow.
  •       Demonstrate practical approaches to managing complex and non-standard instruments (e.g., non-metal instruments and bone flaps) in accordance with patient safety and infection prevention principles.
  •       Integrate evidence-based practices into daily CSSD operations to enhance traceability, workflow efficiency, and consistency of sterile services.

-Medical Sterilization Specialist with a BSc and Diploma in Medical Sterilization, experienced in staff training, CSSD quality assurance, sterilization validation, and translating standards into safe, practical work processes.

Ms. Abeer Essa Ahmad Al Safwan

-Medical Sterilization Specialist with academic and practical experience in CSSD, training, and research, seeking to enhance skills in safe and effective sterilization practices.

I am particularly interested in identifying routine-based risks in CSSD operations and translating standards into practical, day-to-day safe practices.
