Following the success of the First Forum for Training and Education in the Field of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, which was held last year on December 25, 2024, under the title (Opportunities and Challenges), and which was considered the first forum of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to address this topic, with the attendance of more than 500 specialists from various disciplines in mental health and addiction treatment, and the participation of governmental and private sectors, the Second Forum for Training and Education in the Field of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment is being held under the title (Training Practices in the Field of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Locally and Regionally), based on the recommendations of the first forum, one of which was that the second forum should be held at the local and regional levels due to the presence of many training programs currently offered in the field of mental health and addiction treatment in some Arab countries, which have been accredited by the Ministry of Education for those who wish to enhance their knowledge, skills, and self-development in their areas of specialization, in alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030. Therefore, the second forum targets all governmental, private, and third-sector (non-profit) training and educational entities inside and outside the Kingdom to introduce the training programs currently offered in the same field of specialization.

Introducing the methods of utilizing distance training and education in the field of mental health and addiction treatment to contribute to improving the quality of services provided to patients with mental health and addiction issues, in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Introducing the training opportunities and programs provided locally and regionally in the field of mental health and addiction treatment, to contribute to the development and qualification of healthcare practitioners working in this field and to enhance their performance efficiency in order to improve the quality of services provided to patients.
Identifying the essential skills required for nursing staff working in the field of mental health and addiction to develop innovative approaches for training programs using simulation.
Introducing the currently available training programs in the Kingdom related to supportive health services for mental health and addiction treatment, such as the Diploma in Counseling and Recovery and Spiritual Counseling.
After completing the activity, participants will be able to identify the various training methods used in some Arab countries and how to benefit from them by linking them to the objectives of the training programs required in the Kingdom to improve mental healthcare outcomes. They will also be able to understand the methods of distance training and education, evaluate the challenges they face in their application, and learn how to overcome them. In addition, participants will gain knowledge of the available training programs designed to qualify and train staff members working alongside the treatment team to enhance professional competence and develop practical solutions to overcome any challenges.
