• Goals & objectives:

By the end of this session the participants will be able to:

• Discuss the National Strategies in place for Disease Prevention.
• Define Vaccine types and its development pipeline.
• Explain Vaccines mechanism of action and how it affect on the immune system response.
• Identify mandatory vaccines i.e. Pediatric Immunization Schedule as per Saudi Ministry of Health
• Demonstrate occasional and seasonal vaccine e.g. vaccines recommended for Hajj, travel, etc.
• Discuss the recommended vaccine for special populations e.g. chronic diseases and its rationale
• Assess successful strategies that could be implemented in cases of vaccine shortage
• Manage vaccine supply chain and practical consideration in their storage, transportation, expiration and other environmental factors that affect vaccine stability
• Recognize Pharmacist Immunization Certification Program and how to obtain the certificate
• Identify common adverse events and how to report it to SFDA.

• Learning Outcomes:

• By the end of the symposium, participants will be familiar with medical, pharmacological and practical considerations regarding vaccines. Our distinguished speakers will share their knowledge in this field and participants will gain working knowledge regarding scheduled vaccines, seasonal vaccines, vaccine effect on immunity, vaccine types and how they work, vaccine stability issues and adverse events. Participants will also learn about Pharmacist Immunization Certification Program.
